Sexual Reproductive Health education which is carried out by health professionals and clinical psychologists in targeted community basic schools and identified groupings is a comprehensive
approach to learning about the physical, emotional and social aspects of human sexuality and reproduction which is seriously lacking among majority of Ghanaian girls and women owing to
the rigidity and restrictions of our cultural setup. This program therefore aims to educate and equip individuals’ especially teenage girls and women with accurate information, skills, and
values to make informed decisions about their sexual health and well-being. It also help reduce STIs and unintended pregnancies, enhance self-esteem and body image, reduce stigma &
shame, improve knowledge and understanding, and improve mental health & well-being.
The sensitization involves open discussions on topical issues like:
- Puberty & Adolescence
- Consent and Healthy Relationships
- Menstrual Health & Hygiene
- Sexual Rights and Advocacy
- Pregnancy & Childbirth
- Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) & HIV
- Contraception and Family Planning
